The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This exquisite square table is a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship, featuring a mesmerizing Zellige mosaic top. The design is centered around a radiating starburst pattern, blossoming outwards in a complex geometric lattice of interlocking shapes. A vibrant palette of deep blues, emerald greens, mustard yellows, rich burgundies, and stark black and white tiles creates a captivating visual feast that embodies the soul of Moorish art. Handcrafted in the ancient city of Fes, each individual tile, or 'tessera', is painstakingly hand-chiseled from glazed terracotta by skilled artisans known as 'Maalems'. This centuries-old technique, passed down through generations, ensures that no two tables are exactly alike, with slight imperfections in the cut and glaze adding to its authentic character and charm. The tiles are set top-down into a resin and cement mixture, then revealed and grouted to create a smooth, durable surface. Supported by a sturdy, hand-forged wrought iron base, this table is not merely a piece of furniture but a work of art. It is perfectly suited for adding a touch of exotic elegance to a conservatory, patio, or as a striking accent piece in a living room, bringing the timeless beauty of Moroccan architecture into your home.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
