The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This square table is a stunning example of traditional Moroccan zellige, featuring a mesmerizing geometric pattern rooted in Andalusian design. The surface is a complex mosaic centered around a radiating sixteen-pointed star, expanding into an intricate lattice of indigo, emerald green, turquoise, and white tiles. A solid green border frames the vibrant internal design, creating a piece that is both dynamic and balanced.

Handcrafted in the historic city of Fez, this table represents the pinnacle of the zellige craft. A master artisan, or 'maâlem', painstakingly hand-chiseled each individual tile fragment (known as a 'furmah') from Glazed Natural Clay. These tiny, irregular pieces were then assembled upside down in a reverse puzzle using a special cement mixture, ensuring a perfectly smooth, durable surface once flipped. The slight imperfections in the glaze and cut are the hallmarks of authentic, handmade craftsmanship.

Built to endure, this table is set within a sturdy wrought iron rim, making it suitable for both indoor elegance as a side table or outdoor charm on a patio or garden terrace. It is not merely furniture, but a functional piece of history that brings the soulful artistry of Morocco into any living space.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
